The StarTech.com USB31CAADGCP is a compact adapter for connecting a USB-A device or cable to a USB-C host. Its USB-C male plug connects to the host, while the USB-A female port accepts the peripheral.

It supports data transfer up to 5Gbps, with USB 2.0 support at 480Mbps for older devices. From a powered USB-C connection, it can provide up to 5V/3A output for charging a USB-A device at up to 15W.

The adapter has an aluminum-alloy housing and nickel-plated connectors with gold-tipped contacts. USB-C video and Power Delivery are not supported.
