The Kingda SC8108 is an RJ-45 cable tester for checking connections and locating wiring faults along a cable.

Its main active unit has MAIN and LOOPBACK sockets, while the remote passive unit connects to the far end. The backlit LCD shows test information, helping you read results during a check.

The tester measures cable length and locates open circuits or short circuits. Stated applications include 5E and 6E network cables, coaxial cable and telephone lines. Four AA batteries power the unit, so cable checks do not require a mains connection.
