WD Purple 3TB 24x7

WD Purple WD30PURX is a 3 TB hard drive designed for video surveillance storage. Its surveillance focus suits systems that record continuously, where a drive is expected to handle ongoing video streams.

The drive uses a 3.5-inch form factor and a SATA 6 Gb/s interface. Its specifications include 64 MB cache and IntelliPower rotational speed. WD says the range is optimized for systems with up to 32 HD cameras. AllFrame technology works with ATA streaming to reduce video pixilation and interruptions during recording.
