Hitachi-LG GH24NSD6.ASAR10B is an internal optical drive for reading and writing CD and DVD media, including DVD-RAM. Its 5.25-inch form factor and Serial ATA interface identify it as a drive for a compatible desktop drive bay and connection.

For recording, it supports speeds up to 48× on CD and 24× on DVD±R. Dual-layer writing is rated up to 12× for DVD-R DL and 16× for DVD+R DL. Rewritable media speeds are 24× for CD, 6× for DVD-RW, 8× for DVD+RW and 5× for DVD-RAM.

A tray loads the disc, and buffer-underrun protection is included. The drive measures 14.6 × 4.13 × 16.5 cm (width × depth × height), useful for checking the required internal space.
