Smart Array E208e-p SR

The HPE Smart Array E208e-p SR Gen10 (804398-B21) is a PCIe controller for connecting a server to external storage. It is intended for SAS or SATA drives in an external enclosure, providing a dedicated link for storage management and RAID.

The card uses 8 external SAS lanes across 2 x4 Mini-SAS HD ports. It supports SAS transfer rates up to 12 Gb/s per lane and SATA up to 6 Gb/s per lane, and fits a PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot. With RAID levels 0, 1, 5, and 10, it covers several common array configurations. Mixed Mode can operate RAID and HBA functions at the same time; the controller has no cache.

HPE lists this model for ProLiant Gen10 servers including DL360, DL380, DL560, DL580, ML110, ML350, XL170r, XL190r, and XL230K. Supported storage examples include D3610, D3710, and D6020 enclosures, as well as MSA 1040, 1050, 2040, and 2050 systems.
