Secure Access Module Card

ACS ACOS6-SAM Secure Access Module Card is a contact smart card used to handle cryptographic operations for other cards or applications. It stores keys and computes cryptograms, allowing a terminal to use the SAM without holding the application’s master keys.

Its functions include mutual authentication and secure messaging, along with purse MAC computation, key diversification and secure key injection. These operations support authentication and protected data exchange between a terminal and a client card.

The card has 64 KB memory and an ISO 7816 contact interface that supports T=0. ACS lists it for use with ACOS3, ACOS6, ACOS7 and ACOS10 contact cards, as well as MIFARE Ultralight C, DESFire, DESFire EV1/EV2, DESFire Light and MIFARE Plus cards.
