Purple Pro 18TB SATA 6Gb/s

Western Digital WD Purple Pro WD181PURP is an 18TB hard drive designed for smart video surveillance and analytics systems. Its large capacity provides space for storing video footage in demanding recording setups.

The drive uses a 3.5-inch form factor, SATA interface and CMR recording. A 7200 RPM spindle, 512MB cache and transfer rates up to 272MB/s support sustained video storage work. AllFrame AI helps manage video, image and metadata streams while mitigating dropped frames.

WD lists support for up to 64 single-stream cameras and a workload rating of 550TB/year. This makes the drive suited to surveillance recorders and video management systems built for multiple video streams and analytics.
