Cisco GLC-LX-SM-RGD is a rugged SFP transceiver for Gigabit Ethernet fiber links, connecting a switch or router to the network through a compatible Gigabit Ethernet port or slot. Its hot-swappable design allows module replacement without removing the equipment from service.
The 1000BASE-LX/LH interface uses a 1310 nm wavelength. It supports single-mode fiber links up to 10 km and multimode fiber links up to 550 m. Multimode use requires a mode-conditioning patch cable.
This variant is rated for an industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM), which reports optical and module operating parameters. These features suit fiber connections in networking environments where the transceiver is exposed to a broad range of temperatures.
