IBM Battery Controller Module Raid SAS

Lenovo 45W5002 is a battery backup module for the SAS RAID Controller Module in an IBM BladeCenter S chassis. It supplies reserve power to the controller’s cache, helping preserve cached data if the system loses power.

Each SAS RAID Controller Module requires one 45W5002 Battery Backup Unit. The module fits into a dedicated battery bay in the chassis media tray, where it supports the corresponding controller. The manufacturer’s guide states that a charged unit can maintain cache backup for up to 72 hours during a power interruption.

This part is intended for the IBM BladeCenter S SAS RAID storage setup and provides the battery backup function required by its controller module.
