HPE SSD 480GB SFF SATA RI MV BC

The HPE P40497-B21 is a 480GB SATA 6G Read Intensive solid-state drive for compatible HPE server platforms. Its read-focused profile suits server workloads where reading is much more common than writing, such as web serving or read caching.

The drive uses TLC flash in an SFF form factor with a 7 mm height. It comes in a Basic Carrier and connects through SATA supporting 6 Gb/s. Its Read Intensive classification and 0.5 DWPD endurance rating are intended for workloads with substantially more reading than writing.

For 4 KiB workloads at Q=16, HPE specifies random read performance of 44,000 IOPS and random write performance of 15,000 IOPS. Hot-plug support allows replacement during operation on compatible systems.

Other typical applications include boot and swap storage, databases, data warehousing, active archiving, cloud computing and big data analytics. P40497-B21 is a Multi Vendor SKU, so the installed SSD manufacturer may vary within HPE's qualified specification.
