HP lists an approximate yield of 29,000 color pages, giving it a substantial page capacity for regular color document and marketing-material printing. Actual yield varies with page content and other factors.

The cartridge uses HP ColorSphere 3 toner technology. HP lists compatibility with Color LaserJet Enterprise M856dn, M856x and MFP M776dn, as well as Color LaserJet Enterprise Flow MFP M776z and M776zs.
