Poly HIS Inline Amplifier 72442-41 connects a compatible Plantronics wired headset to the headset port on an Avaya IP deskphone. Its Quick Disconnect connection lets the headset detach from the cable without losing the call.

Avaya documents the cable with EncorePro HW510 and HW520 headsets on 96x1 Series deskphones. That tested setup provided two-way audio for calls.

The cable is intended for linking a compatible headset and deskphone for voice communication.
