FiberLert Live Fiber Detector

Fluke Networks FiberLert FIBERLERT-125 is a live fiber detector for checking whether an optical fiber or port is carrying light. A red indicator and audible tone show detected activity, so the status can be checked without interpreting a measurement display.

It detects light from 850 nm to 1625 nm and supports single-mode and multimode fiber, as well as UPC and APC patch cords and ports. Its non-contact optical interface fits directly with 1.25 mm LC receptacles; a tethered ferrule adapter is included for testing 1.25 mm ferrule patch cords.

The LightBeat indicator flashes when the detector is on and battery strength is sufficient. For less unnecessary battery use, the unit switches off after five minutes of inactivity.
