Synology DiskStation DS224+ is a desktop NAS for keeping files, photos and other data in one place, then sharing, syncing and backing them up across devices. It can also support photo management and video surveillance workflows through Synology software.
Two drive bays accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs. Drives are sold separately, so storage capacity depends on the drives installed. The system is powered by an Intel Celeron J4125 four-core processor and includes 2 GB of DDR4 memory, expandable up to 6 GB.
For network and accessory connections, the unit has two 1GbE LAN ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. Its compact desktop enclosure measures 165 × 108 × 232.2 mm and weighs 1.30 kg, making it suitable for a workspace or small office where centralized storage and backup are useful.
