Toshiba N300 MN11ACA16TS is a 16 TB hard drive designed for NAS and other high-capacity storage systems. Its 3.5-inch form factor and SATA 6.0 Gbit/s interface suit compatible NAS, server and desktop RAID setups.
The drive uses CMR recording and spins at 7200 rpm. A 1 GiB buffer and sustained transfer rate of up to 294 MB/s support responsive access to stored files, with actual read and write speeds depending on the host and operating conditions.
Built for 24/7 operation, this model supports up to 12 drive bays and includes rotational vibration and shock sensors. Toshiba rates its workload at up to 180 TB per year and lists an MTTF/MTBF of 1,200,000 hours; these figures are ratings, not a promise of service life. It is intended for NAS and multimedia servers, desktop RAID, private cloud storage and small-business storage.
