X540T2 Network Card Internal

The Intel X540-T2 is a dual-port network adapter for adding wired Ethernet connectivity to a server or workstation with a PCIe slot. Both RJ45 ports support 10GbE, 1GbE and 100Mb link speeds, allowing the adapter to connect to networks operating at different rates.

It uses a PCIe v2.1 x8 interface with a 5.0 GT/s link. For copper Ethernet cabling, Intel specifies Category 6 up to 55 m and Category 6A up to 100 m. The X540 controller also supports 10GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T and 100BASE-TX link modes.

Intel lists virtualization functions including flexible port partitioning, VMDq queues and PCI-SIG SR-IOV support. These features enable network resources to be configured for virtualized server environments.
