The TP-Link TL-SG116E is a 16-port Gigabit Easy Smart desktop switch for expanding a wired network. Its 16 RJ45 ports support 10/100/1000 Mbps, with automatic negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX, for connecting multiple wired devices.

The metal-cased, fanless switch supports plug-and-play operation. It can also be managed through a web user interface or downloadable utility, giving access to network settings.

For organizing traffic, it supports up to 32 simultaneous VLANs, IGMP Snooping, static link aggregation, port mirroring, cable diagnostics and loop prevention. Its dimensions are 286 × 111.7 × 25.4 mm, useful to check when planning where to place it. It suits home or office networks that need several Gigabit Ethernet connections and basic management features.
