Cisco GLC-TE=-RFB is a copper SFP transceiver for adding a 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet link through an available SFP slot. It provides a practical way to connect network equipment over twisted-pair copper cabling.
The module uses an RJ-45 connector and works with Category 5 unshielded twisted-pair cable for link lengths up to 100 m, according to Cisco. Its 10/100/1000 auto negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX support allow the link to adapt to the connected Ethernet interface. Cisco describes SFP modules as hot-swappable, which supports replacement or installation in compatible equipment without treating the module as a permanently fixed component.
